Svensk Direktreklam offers climate compensated direct mail advertising!
Despite that the climate impact of direct mail advertising is only 0.09 % of the average carbon dioxide emission per Swede per annum, we at Svensk Direktreklam now offer our customers climate compensation of their direct mailings.
”Compared to other communication channels such as the Internet and advertisements, direct mail advertising is more environmentally friendly. But we still want to do our bit to improve the environment,” says Torbjörn Andersson, environmental manager at SDR.
For an additional fee based on a mailing’s impact on the climate, Svensk Direktreklam’s customers can carbon offset this impact along the entire chain from production to distribution. Climate compensation services are supplied by Tricorona Climate Partner. The compensation takes place through an UN-monitored and approved so-called CDM project (Clean Development Mechanism) within the framework for the Kyoto protocol.
The aim of the CDM system is to promote emission reduction steps in developing countries. All projects are controlled by the UN and are continually reviewed to guarantee they actually fulfil their benefit to the climate. Indicative for SDR’s choice of method has been the ability to guarantee that the investments made do actually result in the promised climate benefits.
”We note an increase in awareness and willingness by our customers to take greater responsibility for the environment. It is therefore clear to us as a company to limit our own impact on the climate and our work with internal environmental objectives are for that reason ongoing,” says Torbjörn Andersson.
